From Launch to ERM: Navigating Risk in the Space Frontier
Blast off with Blue Origin’s Michelle Wilkerson as she shares her experience as the aerospace company’s first Risk Manager and how she has grown a Risk Management Department within. Michelle will discuss Blue Origin’s operations, provide an overview of their insurance program, and describe how Enterprise Risk Management comes in to play. Attendees will also gain insight from Michelle on how she effectively interfaces with the C-Suite on risk assessment in light of Blue Origin’s unique risks as part of the space industry.

- Michelle Wilkerson, Director, Insurance – Blue Origin
Michelle is an accomplished insurance and risk management professional known for implementing state of the art risk financing and claim management programs for complex, global companies in high-risk sectors. She joined Blue Origin in February 2019, as Director Insurance and is the company’s first risk manager.
Shortly after joining Blue Origin, she reappointed the company’s brokerage representation, consolidated, and centralized the company’s fragmented insurance policy purchases into an intentional and optimized insurance program that has been crafted to be flexible and responsive to Blue Origins complicated and growing needs. She has maintained and developed new insurance carrier and underwriting business relationships, developing the trust needed to support the company’s multifaceted activities on land, sea, orbit – and to the moon.
