Under the direction of the Controller (Assistant Director in the Finance & Asset Management Department), the Risk Manager is responsible for establishing policies and overseeing the city’s overall loss control, general risk management, and safety activities. These efforts are designed to prevent, reduce, or control loss exposure, create a safe work environment for city staff, and ensure the efficient and economical operation of the city’s property, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance programs. Additionally, the Risk Manager performs other related duties as required.

Adjudicate and resolve third-party bodily injury and property damage claims brought against the Company.  The sr. claims adjuster will make final decisions regarding legal liability, coverage, and/or claim compensability and negotiate full and final settlement of claims within the position’s authority.  The sr. claims adjuster will evaluate subrogation potential, maintain claim file information to ensure full compliance with records retention policies, and work closely with the third party claims administrator and the Company’s legal and corporate affairs team.
